Lumineers Porcelain Veneers

Lumineers [CITU] NYLumineers are an alternative to traditional porcelain veneers. They are ultra-thin (approximately 0.2 mm) and highly translucent. Traditional veneers are thicker and require grinding down some of the original tooth structure. Lumineers are so thin that little to no tooth reduction is necessary.

They are custom designed to give you the smile that you desire. There are no shots, no drilling of sensitive tooth structure and very little pain. Dr. Sperber and Dr. Portnoy have had beautiful results from Lumineers!

Although Lumineers are not a replacement for orthodontic treatment, in some case where there is not a severe problem, Lumineers can be used to reshape your mouth. Placement of Lumineers will allow your teeth to look straighter and more uniform, as well as whiter.

The application of Lumineers does not restrict what you eat or drink. You can still chew gum and eat sticky foods. However, Lumineers do not replace good hygiene and you should continue to come for cleanings and check ups every 6 months. This will allow your Lumineers to look their best while keeping the rest of your teeth and gums healthy.

Lumineers ExampleTransforming your smile with Lumineers can take as little as two visits. During the first visit a mold is made of your mouth. You will select the desired shade for your new white smile. At the second visit Dr. Sperber or Dr. Portnoy will check the shade and fit of the Lumineer. In many cases, on this second visit they are painlessly attached. In some cases the Lumineers need to be adjusted and the attachment will be done on a subsequent visit.

Lumineers have been available for over 20 years. They are a wonderful way to bring out the beautiful, healthy, natural, whiter smile in you. Speak to Dr. Sperber or Dr. Portnoy for more information.
